I saw advertising for catalogue distribution job and wondered if it could work for me. But when I found more information about it I got really confused. It seems like a truely established firm but they ask for 75 pounds for starting kit promising an average income of 200 per month and your wages depend on total items sold.
Do people buy stuffs from them (i never did) or do they only survive due to this "starting kits"??

Hey, I’m not sure about Kleeneze but id be very careful with paying out money to earn money as normally your money will keep them afloat, You only earn a percentage on your sales so these company’s cannot guarantee you any income.
I started Avon as was told I’d pay nothing once i had signed i was told for the 1st 2 months i had to pay £7.50 administration fees and also i had to by my own books £5.00 for 20 doesn’t sound bad but when you have 80 houses and people decide to through your book away it mounts up.
I was given certain streets to do as these streets apparently spend roughly 300-400 a month, well in fact i got £20 worth of orders and don’t get paid unless i sell £78 pounds worth of goods then i will only earn 20% which is nothing.
I would say if you have nothing to pay out and don’t have to buy books give it a try but as far as paying fee’s to earn sorry it doesn’t work.

cat toys aren’t cheap, and we now keep the lid down on the toilet… but I have to leave water out for her… what the heck is she doing??

My cat is the same! She is part siamese, even though she looks nothing like it. She meows and talks to people (one of the traits of siamese) and always messes with water. She pushes over glasses and puts things in the toilet to watch the ripples. This is probably why!

Keep yourself up-to-date with the latest marketing information and business tips. It will help you become more successful. Arm yourself with vital information related to scams and protect yourself with knowledge.

I came across this just yesterday when spring cleaning my personal e-mail box and thought it prompted me to write a discussion on this topic as I have seen a few of these circulating lately.

A couple of months ago I received an e-mail from an Australian Job site called CareerOne. This e-mail was a “job offer” which entailed using one of my bank accounts to move large sums of money, from one account to another, and offered me a commission of funds.

Now, the alarm bells went off and I promptly reported it, because I knew this was a scam but how many people out there new to the Internet would recognise this as a scam? It would be very tempting for someone who is genuinely seeking a legitimate Home Based Business to innocently jump at such an apparent opportunity. Unfortunately without realising, they unintentionally end up on the wrong side of the law.

Work From Scams are often conducted through spam e-mails, advertisements in classified sites and on noticeboards. Most are not legitimate job offers. In fact, many of them are a front for money laundering scams, an upfront payment scam or a pyramid scheme. You might receive an e-mail offering a job where you use your bank account to receive and pass on payments for a foreign company, just as I did. They promise to pay you commission for each payment you pass on. This money you are transferring could be part of a money laundering ring and you could end up in serious trouble for being a part of this. Sometimes they are just after your bank account details, cleaning you out after you hand over your details.

You could also be offered a ‘job’ for doing something like stuffing envelopes or typing ads. You are required to pay for a starter kit or administration/joining fee before you can get started. However, once the money is paid, you may receive nothing at all, or simply a set of instructions on how to con other people into joining the same scheme. They proliferate the Net. I actually saw one of these typing ads in my local Messenger just the other day. They wanted a $199 start up fee.

KNOW THIS

Legitimate Online Job Sites will never send you unsolicited e-mail offering you jobs. Remember there are no get-rich-quick schemes: the only people who make money are the scammers.Be highly suspicious of products or schemes that claim to guaranteed income or winnings.Be highly suspicious of job offers that require you to pay an upfront fee. You should not have to pay to get a job. Money laundering is a criminal offence: NEVER under any circumstances agree to transfer money for someone else. NEVER send money, or give credit card or online account details to any company that cannot be verified or someone you do not know. Do not open suspicious or unsolicited e-mails (spam): delete them.

DO A BACKGROUND CHECK

Before responding to a job, try to find out if the company is reputable and well-known. If the job offer involves transferring money for someone else, ask yourself if you really want to get involved in something that could be money-laundering and likely to attract police attention. If you are concerned that they are using a legitimate company as a front ask for a direct phone number to the company they are representing and check it out. Check the website address they have given matches the Company name and phone number. There are a number of ways for you to verify their identity. If they cannot provide you with this information then you know that you have caught them out.

If you think you may have received a work from home offer that you think is a scam, or if you have responded to a job advertisement that you now realise is a scam, report it to the SCAMwatch website. If you have received an unsolicited e-mail from a well know Job Site, report it to them. This will help others from falling victim themselves.

Remember this: Do not pay for a job. If you are looking for a home based business that is different to a work at home job. Legitimate home based businesses have start up costs but these are usually for items like website hosting, marketing tools and advertising costs. Take the time to look around and think through any decision to sign up to a program or home based business opportunity. They will not all be the right one for you.

There’s no denying that the Internet is allowing more and more entrepreneurs to start their own businesses and effectively market their new products. However, there seems to be an increasingly common misconception when these businesses try to generate media attention and publicity for their products or businesses. Over the past several years, I have had more than a few clients come to me seeking "a PR" to get people interested in their products/businesses. That’s right a "PR". Contrary to what some people think, PR is NOT an acronym for "Press Release" - it stands for Public Relations. PR is much more than just a press release and that distinction is very important to understand.

I often cringe when I see articles from well-intentioned "marketing" experts that say, in effect: "simply write a press releases, pitch it to the media and just sit back and reap the benefits." Unfortunately, it is far from being that simple. That statement pre-supposes that the media release/pitch is written well - containing all the right elements and newspegs to catch the media eye - and that it is pitched and maintained in the correct media market, which is often the downfall of many amateur PR campaigns. By all means, a press release is an integral part of a PR campaign. But a press release alone does not a PR campaign make. A successful PR/publicity campaign for your business or product should include many, if not all of the following:

· An interesting, quality, newsworthy product/service that the media (and its audience) will find merit in;

· A concise, articulate media release or story pitch - not a glorified ad - detailing the benefits of your product/business/website and what effect it will have for it’s users;

· A supply of media "supportives" - product photos (digital & hard copy), possible review samples, etc.;

· An extensively researched media list detailing all applicable media outlets whose editorial profiles match your product/business profile. Here’s an important detail—the targets of your pitch should be "name-specific" not just "title-specific" media contacts. By that I mean the media market research you compile should give you particulars like "Sally Jones-Cooking Editor" not just Tribune Newsroom or Managing Editor;

· A solid, trustworthy media contact vehicle that gets your release/media kit directly into the hands of the appropriate reporter/editor/producer and allows them to respond easily to your pitch. (As always, beware of press release distribution services that often times indiscriminately spew your release to hundreds of untargeted media outlets with little or no results.) Research to find out the preferred method of receipt of your media targets - don’t just assume an email will suffice. Whether it’s by snail mail, email, fax or phone calls, the media can’t run your story if they don’t hear about it. For one reason or another, some media may decide not to include your product/business in a placement—but don’t let them say the reason is because they weren’t made aware of it;

· Meticulous media relations to immediately fulfill media requests (photos/interviews/product samples) and extensive media contact follow-ups over several months to generate as many placements as possible. Many times, media members can’t immediately respond to an initial pitch due to tight editorial deadlines and the time it takes to wade through a multitude of similar media pitches. I have found, without question, that the media interest continues to increase as you re-introduce the pitch and gently "rattle the media cage" over the course of the next several weeks/months;

· Some sort of media tracking capabilities—whether it’s your own media follow-ups, Internet research, or a professional broadcast/print clipping service. Having "hard copies" of the placements generated by your PR campaign can be invaluable in the further marketing of your business/product. Media placements are a unique validation of the market acceptance for your business/product and can help you convince new customers of that fact.

Think of launching a PR/publicity campaign like flying a kite. The press release (which aptly details your product/business) is the kite. But if your kite doesn’t have the proper amount of string, a good tail, a strong wind and the expert manipulation of the kite flier - it has very little chance of getting off the ground. But if all theses elements are in place - a PR/publicity campaign can send your business soaring like a kite on a breezy Spring afternoon.

I am joining with a friend to create an online business. But, we need to know what product appeals to the general public. Also, we need to know if we need a business license in the state of georgia if we just have an online business. PLEASE HELP

this worked well for us !

I have been very successful in business for over 30 years, mostly utility construction and residential contracting. Having to make a major career change at 43(1993 I had a stroke leaving me in a wheelchair) was (let’s just call it quite an adventure). Enough about the past, it’s come and went. The present is what is exciting. A while back a long-time friend introduced me to a marketing system that has worked well for him, while being very profitable. So I tried it out. It was the best thing I could have done.
I have decided that it was going to take more than a wheelchair to keep me down.
If you’re the type person that’s tired of that old 40 hour grind, this may be what you’ve been looking for. I am more than happy to show you how you too can be on the road to financial freedom!

This job can be done over the Internet, over the phone, or in person and is LEGIT!!!

Excuses, excuses, I have heard them all.

â??It is faster if I just do it myself.â?

â??No one does it better than me.â?

â??I donâ??t know what to delegate.â?

â??I canâ??t afford to hire anyone.â?

Sound familiar? The key to controlling delegation is to establish what tasks are, how they should be completed and what the final outcome looks like BEFORE you assign them to someone.

No more excuses. Here are 6 steps you can take to develop your what, how and final outcome.

#1 What to Give Away and what to Keep

Think about what you directly contribute to the business. Keep those tasks. Anything outside your expertise or easily performed by others . . . give away.

Your Actions:

Make a list of everything you do on a weekly or monthly basis. Determine what is essential to keep and what can be given away.

#2 Create a Plan

To be effective, you have to share exactly what you want done. Maybe, â??no one does it better than youâ? because no one truly understands what you want.

Your Actions:

Create the specific, detailed steps needed to create your desired result. Give those steps along with any files, forms and checklists to the person helping you.

#3 Results and Accountability

Start at the end. Picture what you should be holding when you get those final deliverables. Communicate those expectations. All expectations HAVE to be reasonable, clear and measurable. For example, â??complete a minimum of 30 sales calls per weekâ? as opposed to â??complete sales callsâ?.

Accountability is not a bad word. If you are not getting results, you and your business suffer.

Your Actions:

Create specific goals, quotas or outcomes. Communicate those expectations. Have consequences for results not being accomplished.

#4 The Right Person

Determine what skill sets your position requires. Ask yourself, what do I really want someone to do? Search for a person that has those skills.

If you need someone to spend tons of time logging information, donâ??t hire someone who canâ??t sit still and chats on the phone all day.

Your Actions:

Look at the tasks being performed. Decide what skill sets are needed. When interviewing, ask open-ended questions.

#5 Checking In

While watching late night TV, I landed on an infomercial. The product tag line was, â??set it and forget itâ?. The same rule does NOT apply to delegation. People are human. They make mistakes and they may even (gasp) drop the ball.

Set specific times to check in. Set a regular appointment time, such as Tuesday at 2pm, or at a specific spot in the process. For example, â??after you have called all 50 prospects, come see me.â?

Checking in allows you to stay in the loop, fix problems, educated the people working with you and be informed.

Your Actions:

Set specific times to check in. Actually check in when you say you will.

#6 Delegate to Technology

Money is tight and you desperately need help, but there is no budget. What do you do?

I am constantly amazed at what technology can do. Iâ??m not talking about, no one can figure out how this works stuff. Iâ??m talking about everyday, just push a button, anyone can do this stuff. Finding what works for you could save you hours of time and money.

Your Actions:

Learn some of the more intermediate or advanced features of software you already own. Incorporate it into your day-to-day workflow.
