When it comes to home business and working at home, scams are a true problem. Residual income opportunities are often a great source for these scams, but not every residual income home business opportunity is a scam. In fact, there are many that are legitimate and can actually provide a nice income source. The way to weed out the scams is to know the signs of a scam. Then once the scams are weeded out a person can get to really making a good income.

The number one rule in working at home and avoiding scams is to never pay for a job. Any opportunity that wants a person to pay just to work for them is not worth it. For every one of those opportunities there are plenty of real opportunities for free. The only time paying anything for a job is okay is when the company gives the person something. If a person pays for sample products, for example, then that is fine. Many direct sales jobs require representatives to buy a start up kit and they are fine. It is when a company wants a person to pay for nothing. Any charges for administrative costs or processing is best left unpaid. There are more options and spending money on signing up for an opportunity is not a good idea.

The following list sorts out the other things to watch out for to help avoid scams. These things are all something to consider about every opportunity. By considering them a person can avoid wasting time on something that will never help them build a home business residual income.
- Good products or services. The products and services should be real. They should be something people would buy and something that is in demand. If nobody will buy them then the chances of the business surviving are not good.
- Support from others. Every business opportunity should offer support from at least the sponsor. That is the idea in most residual income opportunities. A team is built and the team works together to form a strong business. If there is no support then success could be hard to find.
- The company has staying power. The company should be built to last. They should have a good reputation. They should be solid. If there are any signs of weakness then the business may not be a good way to build an income.
- Getting started is not too hard. If the company makes getting started difficult then that could lead to problems. A hard to start business could make a person give up or they could point to trouble down the road keeping the business going. If it is too hard to get started how will a person ever succeed?

As many pet owners know, fleas and ticks can be common in your furry friends and cause itching and misery. Fleas are tiny, almost microscopic, and can be responsible for allergic dermatitis in some pets. And fleas also carry diseases.

Ticks are also very small and attach themselves to your pet, engorging themselves on its blood until full. They are found everywhere, especially in places with high humidity and moderate temperatures. Ticks can carry diseases, including Lyme disease, which are hazardous for both people and their pets.

Fleas can live in many places within your home. They lay eggs which hatch and feed on flea feces. If you do not treat your pet, your house can easily become infested in a short period of time. To check your dog or cat for possible flea infestation, you can either shake their fur over a white paper towel or brush them with a flea comb. If you see black specks, these are probably flea droppings. An animal with fleas is usually nervous and will scratch excessively. If you have more than one cat or dog, they will probably all be infested. One adult flea can lay up to 50 eggs at once and over 2000 in her lifetime!

Ticks and the diseases transmitted by them can cause various symptoms including fever, loss of appetite, lameness, depression or lethargy, arthritis or swollen joints. Ticks should be removed with tweezers and saved for the veterinarian to examine. Your pet will need a blood test if it has a disease transmitted by a tick.

Fortunately, there is a safe, easy and proven method to rid all fleas and ticks from your pet. First you should bring your dog or cat to a veterinarian to be examined. You can control existing fleas or ticks and prevent future infestations using a Frontline® product. By applying this every month, you can prevent fleas and ticks from returning.

Frontline® quickly kills fleas and keeps your pet totally flea- and tick-free for a month. The products are waterproof and gentle enough to use on kittens or puppies over 8 weeks of age. You can choose from a range of Frontline® products, such as Frontline Spray, Frontline Topspot and Frontline Plus. Frontline Plus is the newest product in the range and kills 100% of adult fleas on your pet. It also kills flea eggs and larvae. Frontline Plus completely breaks the flea lifecycle, to stop all stages of fleas from becoming a nuisance. It also kills all 4 types of ticks to leave your pet fully protected.

Try Frontline® products - your pet will thank you for it!

Household Twilight Zone

Posted by admin on 31/10/09 in dog supplies

Youâ??ve heard of trying to find a needle in a haystack? Housekeepers all over the planet encounter similar challenges and are expected to deftly overcome them so that the kids can catch the bus, breadwinners can get to work and the household remains in ship-shape.

Since unlocking the mysteries of the household usually falls on the female of the species, they know these daily encounters can land them â?¦ in the Household Twilight Zone.

It starts in the bathroom. Who could have imagined that the endless supply of hair cropping up on the floor could be shed from the same heads that wake up in tangled and hard to comb and style messes? This proliferation of castaway strands boggles the mind and frustrates men with male pattern baldness, yet no one helps with hair removal.

Enter the kitchen, where the remains of snacks and drinks on the floor causes such a stickiness that it can pull a shoe two inches off the ground but, incredibly, no one cares. This slapping sound has conditioned the dog to salivate and come running, a Pavlovian spot remover.

Off in the distance, the children scream. The item they need for school cannot be located. Only the stairway, cluttered with the weekâ??s worth of items that never found their way to their rightful place, holds any hope. Either that or itâ??s where they had it last.

Against our better judgment, we follow a trail of dropped items directly to a strange and unexplainable sight. What appears to be an ordinary bed is piled so high with clothing, there is no need for a blanket. And against the wall, only the clutter of personal care items on top of the dresser holds any hnit of its intended purpose in the room.

With no connection whatsoever to this scene is the laundry room with its expansive collection of catchall items. As the occupants come and go, here is where they deposit books, coats, shoes, mail, newspapers, groceries, and the item theyâ??ll need for school tomorrow morning. The discerning eye finds, under a deep pile of sundries, actual clothing items waiting for a spin. Itâ??s no mystery who will be entering the cleaning zone.

The time - almost any day, after school. The place - the family room. Just who are these young people? Before them lies an expanse of floor, a minefield of broken and cracked DVD cases. Strangely enough, these people canâ??t connect the dots as to why they are broken even though they can run a Pacman through a rows of dots in record time on what they refer to as a â??vintageâ? system that they keep in a cobwebbed box in the basement that appears immediately after the roomâ??s been vacuumed.

And in the basement, a testimony to the lost. Empty cages now filled with painting supplies and Easter baskets offer the only clues to the existence of the pets the kids promised to care for. (They did ask to consult with Sylvia Brown about the gerbil they never found. Not so for the gecko who was proof positive that living things need food and water.)

As the day draws to a close, consider this. Is it any wonder that parents get tired? But unlike the gerbil or the gecko, they face the future with confidence, having escaped the darker places and ready to encounter another day â?¦ in the household Twilight Zone.

Have you ever wondered what exactly is up with dog training? This informative report can give you an insight into everything

you’ve ever wanted to know about dog training.

Dog Training Dealing with Separation Anxiety, also known in the dog training world as owner absent misbehavior, is one of

the most frequently encountered problems in the world of dog training.

Separation anxiety can manifest itself in many different ways, including chewing, destroying the owner’s property, excessive

barking, self destructive behavior and inappropriate urination and defecation. Dogs suffering from separation anxiety often

whine, bark, cry, howl, dig, chew and scratch at the door the entire time their family members are away.

Well meaning owners often unwittingly encourage this misbehavior by rushing home to reassure the dog, but it is important for

the well being of both dog and owner that the dog learn to deal with extended periods of separation. How the owner leaves the

house can often contribute to separation anxiety issues. A long and drawn out period of farewell can make matters worse by

making the dog feel even more isolated when the owner finally leaves.

These long types of farewells can get the dog excited, and then leave him with lots of excess energy and no way to work it

off. These excited, isolated dogs often work off their excess energy in the most destructive of ways, such as chewing up a

favorite rug or piece of furniture. Excess energy is often mistaken for separation anxiety, since results are often the same.

If you think that excess amounts of energy may be the problem, try giving your dog more exercise to see if that eliminates

the problem. If separation anxiety is truly the problem, it is important to address the root causes of that anxiety.

In order to prevent separation anxiety from occurring, it is important for the dog to feel happy, safe, secure and

comfortable while the owner is away for the day. It is important, for instance, to give the dog plenty of things to keep it

busy while you are away. This means providing it with lots of toys, such as balls or chew toys. A pet companion is often

effective at relieving separation anxiety as well.

Giving the dog a playmate, such as another dog or a cat, is a great way for busy pet parents and pets alike to cope with the

stress of being left alone. Setting aside scheduled play times, during which the pet is given your undivided attention, is

another great way to alleviate boredom and separation anxiety.

Playing with the dog, and providing it with sufficient attention and exercise, is a proven way to avoid a stressed and

anxious dog. A happy dog that has been well exercised and well conditioned will generally sleep the day away happily and

patiently wait for the return of its owner. It is important to schedule one of these daily play sessions before you leave the

house each day.

It is important to give the dog a few minutes to settle down after playtime before you leave. For dogs that are already

experiencing separation anxiety and associated misbehaviors, it is important to get him accustomed to your leaving gradually.

Be sure to practice leaving and returning at irregular intervals, several times during the day. Doing so will get your dog

accustomed to your deparartures and help him realize that you are not leaving him forever.

Dogs that have been previously lost, or those that have been surrendered to shelters and readopted, often have the worst

problems with separation anxiety. Part of treating this problem is teaching the dog that your leaving is not permanent.

As your knowledge about dog training continues to grow, you will begin to see how dog training fits into the overall scheme

of things. Knowing how something relates to the rest of the world is important too.

How do I get on in business?

Posted by admin on 30/10/09 in start up business kit

I have recently purchased a submliation kit, which means I can print any photo onto a mug, coaster, placemat, tshirt, mousemat, fridge magnet and keyring… but where do i start to promote it, how do i get my company across to people?

I’m not sure of what kind of market you’re seeking.

If a local market, then start by visiting with your local recreation commissions that put together the Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, events for youth. (Offer a commission on sales.)

Second, Contact the Athletic Department, administration, Booster Clubs, and other organizations at your local school. (Offer a commission on sales.)

Third, make sure your local Chamber of Commerce is aware of your new business and service. You might want to consider joining the Chamber or other business organizations in your community.

Fourth, start walking into businesses and leaving information about our offering. Have a flier, or letter with information about your services, and what you can do. Make sure you target the Sales Manager.

Fifth, watch for public events where you can setup a table and show your offerings. Examples: Fairs, Auctions, Sporting Events, Concerts, Flea Markets, etc.

Sixth, look through you local phone book and newspaper, become very aware of every club, activity group, class, etc, that is happening in your community, and find out if they need these types of items. (Offer a commission on sales)

Seventh, go to local stores that sell specialty items, or clothing, tell them about your offerings, and what you can do to add names, images, etc to items. (Offer a commission on sales)

That list should keep you busy for weeks and weeks…

If you’re looking for a national market, or an Internet market, then it’s an entirely different story, but I’ll stop with the local market, since I’m guessing that’s what you’re going after.

How to move dog supplies?

Posted by admin on 30/10/09 in dog supplies

Hello, I have alot of dog supplies (shampoos, conditioners, nail clippers, grinders, brushes, cleaners etc.) that I have to move around the house when I want to bathe the dogs or brush them… I was thinking I could buy one of those containers that people who have horses carry their brushes etc. in but I am drawing a blank on what it is called. Do you know? How do you move your supplies? Thank you all.
Basset Puppies = land piranhas - Yes, a tack box. Thank you. Sorry about that but I just could not remember.

Tack box.

http://images.google.ca/images?hl=en&um=1&sa=1&q=d-flite+tack+box&btnG=Search+images&aq=f&oq=&start=0

Or you could check out your local hardware store, some of the larger tool boxes will do the trick.

I notice low income people will buy the best for their pets, and they will settle for a store brand themsevles. IS THIS CRAZY??

I’m low income. My dogs won’t eat any brand except Walmart’s Old Roy…however, I supplement with raw eggs from our chickens and of course some kitchen scraps. When we can’t get locally grown food from neighbors, we get our food from Earth Fare-a mostly organic store. Since we only have one income, and money is short, food is almost our only extravagence.
But, if by low income you mean someone on foodstamps, forget my answer.

While I must confess I don’t know you, I assume that you are interested in home busies because you have seen a newspaper ad telling you of a very lucrative home business opportunity (I come across such ads every day), or maybe a friend told you about it. So probably you are a lot excited to start your own home business. Because finally, you can quit your 9-to-5 regular job and concentrate on something creative!

However, not everything is as rosy as it seems when it comes to home business. If you are planning to start your home business based on someone else’s rules, you must be careful. Almost 99% of the offers out there are scams. Just think about it: if it was possible to earn thousands by investing just a few dollars, wouldn’t everyone be doing it by now? Below I tell you of some of the industry’s biggest scams, and how to avoid them.

1. Source of the advertisement: First, jog your memory a little. Can you remember where you got that work from home offer? Based on my experiences, I can say that: if you received that ad by email, or by post, then most likely it is not a legitimate offer, although there maybe exceptions. If you saw the ad in a popular newspaper then it is likely that the offer is legitimate, though not always. My advice is that always thoroughly check out any and every offer you receive and assume it a scam until you have solid proof to the contrary.

2. Stuff that envelop: Under this scam, you are sent a bunch of envelopes and ads similar to the one you responded to. You are supposed to earn some money when somebody responds to your ads. While this might make you some money in the short term, be assured that there is no established niche for this type of work and so you won’t be making any money in the long term. Just get over it and find another job!

3. Charge for supplies: Under this scheme (read scam), the company asks you to pay a small charge in order for them to send you a certain ‘home business kit’. What you eventually find is that the materials you receive are not worth the time or money, and that there is just no established market for that kind of business. Bottom line, if any company asks for money from you upfront, just run away from it. A well established company should b willing to deduct any fees from your first paycheck; if they don’t do that, chances are that they’re never going to pay you anything.

4. Craft and lose it: Let’s say that a crafts company hires you to make clothes, toys, ornaments, and other types of crafts from home. When you finally submit the output to the company, they say that your products are not up to the mark and then refuse to pay you. Then they sell the products at a huge profit and then move on to trap the next gullible person.

Always make sure that you are the one who sell the products when it comes to crafts. You don’t need to sell your products to the end-users (consumers); you can sell them even to wholesalers. Just make sure that you are the one deciding what you make and getting the money.

5.Home typing, Medical Billing, etc: I know this one much more better since I was also one of those who are lured into this scam but fortunately I fled from them before they could scam me! One example of such scam is the job of medical transcriptionist. You are told that there is too much work in this industry to handle and so the industry has outsourced the work. All you have to do is just type medical bills into an electronic database from home. And they assure you that you will get paid handsomely for it. All you need is just a computer (I was told that I don’t even need a PC; I can work from their office) and buy a ’special software’ which will teach you the skills needed for the job.
You might notice that the software is from a different company altogether, but the truth is that the purpose of the ad in the first place was to market the software.

Granted that you get paid good money from your job, but when you are working from home for another company, you don’t make as much money as you can do from your own home business. So there is no need to bother with them at all, at least, in my opinion.

The Smart Guide to Online Shopping

Posted by admin on 28/10/09 in pet products

Online shopping has advantages and disadvantages. Not being able to touch the product or examine it closely can be seen as one of the major disadvantages. On the other hand online shopping is faster, easier, not very demanding and you can still enjoy sales. Bargain clothes or appliance deals can be found on the Internet as much as they can be found in real stores. Many believe that online shopping has the disadvantage of not finding as many bargains as you do in real shops. This is completely untrue. Online shopping offers many bargains to those who know where to look for them. Shopping online can even be more fun than real shopping once you got the hang of it.

Online smart shopping means finding bargain clothes all year long without surfing the net for hours on end. The easiest way of shopping smart is to look for web sites that have discount codes, sales and vouchers for all the major clothing stores. Bargain clothes are very easy to find online if you visit special web sites that show store sales or offer discount codes for clothing items.

Smart online shopping means finding everything from discount clothes to appliance deals easy and fast. Most of the times, shopping is a necessity rather than a means of spending time, especially when it comes to buying appliances. Online shopping can reduce the time you need to buy an appliance and it can be done directly from your home. Online shopping also means that the products will be delivered at home.

Online shopping has many advantages. You can look for various products with just simple clicks of the mouse, you save precious time, you have your products shipped to you and most importantly you do all this without missing out on sales or discounts. Smart online shopping requires nothing more than finding the web site that offers appliance deals for many stores or finding bargain clothes of all major clothing brands.

Almost every important store in the world has online stores as well. However, surfing each site to find those appliance deals you need or those bargain clothes would take too much of your time.  Online shopping has the advantage of being fast. Therefore, surfing the Internet all day to find bargain clothes or appliance deals would defy the purpose of online shopping.

Web sites that offer discount codes for products or show all sales of major stores are the means to smart online shopping. If you want bargain clothes or want to find the best appliance deals, specialized web sites are your solution.

Shopping online is fast, easy and smart. Appliance deals can be found in many real stores, but if you go online you can search the stores faster, especially when you are aware of the web sites that help you find them. Smart online shopping means everything from bargain clothes to pet discounts. Finding the deals you are looking for is just a matter of learning how to shop online. There is nothing as fun and easy as finding all the bargains you want on a single web site.
