My name is Gloria (I’m the owner of this website) and I wanted to share my “Dream Come True” Passion Pet Store story with you.

Not that I am anyone famous, or even someone that has tons of money to open a regular down town pet business or a big time pet franchise pet store or someone like that.

I am just a pet lover, and they have been a part of my life since I was a little girl. I can’t even remember a time when I didn’t have a cat, dog or even a parakeet & some fish.

Yes, I am a pet lover and I “Got the T-shirt!!!”

Have you ever heard the saying that claims “Do what you love and the money will follow?” What I am about to share with you is exactly that.

Well I believe I have finally found a business system that can do just that for me.
Imagine making my “Passion for Pets” into an easy to operate successful online business. I will be doing a job that I will love doing every day!!!

How cool is that! I’ll be selling great stuff for pets AND absoulutely be “Lovin’ Every Minute” while I’m doing it.

First off let me tell you a little about myself.

I am a self-employed, work at home girl, and live in ,.  I don’t have any children, however, I do have two dogs that I treat like my kids.  Yes, I have to confess I do spoil them a little.  The oldest is a Border Collie named Alex, who is 8 years old and my newest is a Belgium Shepherd named Elzarra. She is only 1 year and a half.

Since they are both high energy breeds, they need to have lots of exercise. Alex likes the hard rubber kongs and absolutely destroys the soft plush toys. I stopped giving them to hom because it look like an explosion of stuffing all over the carpet!

Elzarra’s favorites are the squeaky toys and balls. We play catch every morning. They both also love rawhide chews, but I only give them as a special treat. So I am always buying toys for them. Which I suppose was why I would often dream of owning my own pet store.  I used to spend so much time and money at them. The pet stores I go to are always super busy too, so when I didn’t want to fight the crowds, I started to shop online.

That’s when I found a website called ILUVPETS,  that was literally the answer to my dreams.  ILUVPETS would help me with everything I needed to start my own online pet store. Imagine that, this was the simple way for me to begin doing MY Passion Job!

I Can Now Own My Own Online Pet Store!

I know that there are a lot of people out there and quite a few of them have at least 1 pet. Also, I know from my own personal experience, I will buy stuff for my pet quicker than what I would buy stuff for myself. I love them that much. PERIOD!  And I know that my friends that have dogs & cats, feel the very same way I do. The truth is:

PET LOVERS SPEND MONEY ON THEIR PETS!

So when I was checking out the “ILUVPETS” website to find out how to get started with my own online pet store I learned even more interesting facts.

Yes, I already knew that dogs and cats are the most popular pets, but I didn’t realize that   there are an estimated 16 million birds, and an astonishing 142 million fish being cared for by pet lovers in the United States alone?

Also they report “Americans spend an average of $150.00 a month on their pets.”

And the other night on Nightline, they did a report and said the slow economy hadn’t affected the Pet Industry that much and that people are still buying stuff for their pets.

There was a lady selling pet products at a home party like Tupperware. What a neat idea.

Now I plan to cash in on this awesome opportunity with my own online pet supply store!  Also I can open my own online pet supply store FREE for a limited time!

This is my chance to actually have My Passion Pet Store.

This is just so great, because ILUVPETS will provide everything for me to run a successful online business.

I can’t believe I’ll be getting a FREE  ILUVPETS startup kit in the mail. They didn’t even charge a SETUP FEE, I only had to pay shipping!

I’ll be actually getting my very own prebuilt store, complete with popular pet products in a variety of categories. They will stock all of the products and ship everything for me.

Plus they are going to help me be successful by including an iStore Quickstart Marketing Guide.  I will be up and running and getting money super fast. I am so excited, I can’t wait til my Free Kit arrives. I have already started to tell my friends.

The great thing about an online store is that it remains open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and I won’t have any employees to worry about!

I’ll let you know more as soon as I get started. Unless, of course, I am just so busy with my new Passion Pet Store I don’t have time!

Are you a Pet Lover and maybe interested in doing what you love?  Check it out here.

I need to do some research/analysis into the current market opportunity that exists for a an investment company, where by we find people who need capital to fund their small business, this may be a chef needing cash investment for a cafe, a beautician needing finance for a kit or premisis to set up, or anything really. But how can i assess the need for a business to invest in such companies? Its easy to work out if theres a market for a specific company, you can look at the market, the competitors, the economy etc, but for a company whos purpose is to invest in OTHER start up ventures, this seems more tricky, but I want to write an impressive report which suggests whether, or not, there would be call to start such as company. we put in money, in exchange for equity of each company, and we give the business guidance and support.
Any ideas?

Sounds like you want to be a venture capitalist. It’s risky business but the returns can be incredible. Finding a great investment is definitely difficult. I’m not a venture capitalist so I don’t have any tips, but you might try looking at your state’s website, then following links to commerce or economic development etc and then contacting someone there. The state may have a long list of people trying to get SBA or other loans/capital for their small businesses. The state would be glad to have an investor to match up those requests. Maybe start there and see what you can find out. Good luck!

The question is straightforward. I want to know how people make their online business successful? From how they start from scratch. How did you get your inspiration if you own an online business? Where do you get your products? Do you make them yourself or what? How do you market your products? And how did you come about making your own personal website? Did you make it yourself or hire a professional to do it? How much time out of the week does your online business take up?

To make an online business successful, you must know what you are doing. You can’t just walk through your business owning days blindly. That won’t work. You also have to love what you are doing. If not, you will become bored and even find that you aren’t caring or putting enough effort into it as you should be.

To start an online business, of course you must first establish the business. You will need at least these for things: 1. dba. 2. ein. 3. Seller’s permit. 4. business license.
Then, you will need a domain (www.yourname.com), website, host, shopping cart/ merchant account, etc. You can either pay someone to design the website for you (which I HIGHLY recommend if you are not good with html or css codes), or you can use a template. If you use a designer, they will let you know what shopping carts and hosting will work best with the website they created.

I got my inspiration for my business because I realized that only I can live out my dreams. I realized that I can’t work for someone else and always have my ideas put into action, or even be heard! I took a business class and fell in love. I found myself wanting to know everything about it, and actually reading business text books in my spare time.

I am not very creative with my hands, so I purchase my products from wholesalers. I love to shop, and shopping for my store, even sorting inventory, is really rewarding for me!

I market my products a few different ways. Word of mouth is a huge way!! Some how, my business almost always can be brought up in a conversation just by chance. Of course, I carry plenty of business cards around with me to hand out. I have email marketing through a subscription. I offer promotional items with my business name on it as well. There are many other things.

I did not have the time to learn how to do web design, and I wanted my website to be very customizable to my needs and wants. I knew that a template wouldn’t give me what I needed. I looked around for a web designer and glanced at many portfolios until I found one that I liked. I got VERY lucky to find a designer that offered a shopping cart in the one time fee.
Shopping carts can get very expensive, the price goes up with the more products you get. I don’t have to pay a monthly fee.

I would say that my business probably takes up a large chunk of my time during the week, including weekends. My work does not stop during the weekends. But, I got very lucky because I still have time to do things that I like… even though taking care of my business is probably my favorite thing to do. I still find time to see my friends and spend time with my family often.

Good Luck

Shopping for Pet Supplies Online

Posted by admin on 09/03/10 in dog supplies

Online shopping has made life enormously more convenient in many regards. No longer do consumers need to drive for miles, burning expensive gas and possibly an entire weekend day going from one store to another. Pet supplies are one of the most convenient items to purchase online, for several reasons.

Anyone who lives with a cat knows the perils of suddenly changing the animal’s food. Cats prefer a consistent diet of a food they like and changing that food can cause digestive, and other, problems. Most cat owners like to buy a large quantity of their pet’s preferred food and shopping online allows them to do this, at a discount, without hunting around for a store that carries their pet’s preferred brand.

Those who own more exotic pets have a special set of needs where pet supplies are concerned. Sensitive animals such as reptiles, tropical fish, birds and other animals require very specific items for their care that are often not available at most pet stores. Online pet stores tend to carry a wide range of items for just about any pet’s needs. For these pet owners, in particular, buying pet supplies online is enormously more convenient and, almost always, much less expensive.

Dogs have a well-deserved reputation as our best friends and, in fact, humans domesticated dogs before any other species. Dogs, especially large breeds, can consume an impressive amount of food. Buying this food in bulk quantities online is much more affordable that buying it one bag at a time from a regular store.

Online shopping does not eliminate one of the most fun aspects of shopping for a pet: impulse buys. Pet owners tend to develop a detailed knowledge of what their pets like and are usually able to tell immediately what kinds of toys would capture their interest. Online shopping for pet supplies often entails a stop over to the toys section to see what a beloved cat or dog might find exciting . Having an extra treat in the box is fun for the pet and the owner alike.

The convenience of having these items delivered to your home instead of having to drive them back yourself cannot be overstated. This is the appeal of most online shopping, the item is ordered and no further action is needed. It shows up within a convenient amount of time and, in most cases, combining the shipping on many items can save money.

Shopping for pet supplies at the usual big box stores can be time consuming, more expensive than one might think and something of a hassle. There’s often a long line, slow service and limited choices in the products available. If you’re going to do something for your pet, it makes more sense to skip this chore, order the supplies they need online and use the time you gain to spend a little extra time with your pet. More than anything, pets want affection and attention, the same things they give to us.

When we have only one cat and she misses the litterbox, it can be hard to fix. When we have more than one cat in the house, it can be even harder.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help stop litter box problems in a multi-cat home. first of all, act fast. A litter box problem that continues for a long time can become harder and harder to solve. Litter box mistakes can lead to territorial responses, and disturb the routines and hierarchies of your entire household.

Will Muffin still want to take her daily afternoon snooze on the couch if Tiger urinated there? She may find some other area, displacing more and more of your cats, and creating fighting and other dominance displays. If you put off solving the problem, hoping it will go away on its own, you may find it multiplying in your home.

Find the culprit. Before you even try to determine the “why,” figure out the “who.” If you catch it early enough, you can hopefully nail it down to one cat. Many people like to isolate each cat to determine which cat is causing the problem, but displacing one cat, even overnight, can sometimes lead to dominance displays in the others, as they claim undefended territory.

If you have new cats, or kittens reaching adulthood, you may want to visit the vet for help. Your veterinarian can prescribe fluoresce in for your cats, helping you to determine which urine stain(s) glow under an ultraviolet light.

Rule out a Veterinary Problem. Veterinary causes underlie many litter box problems, particularly in household with older cats or those with access to the outdoors. Urinary tract infections are one of many common causes, where the cat develops an aversion to the box as a painful place to be. Other health problems can also cause litterbox mistakes.

Worse, without visiting the veterinarian, your other cats may be at risk, which could cause the problem to multiply. No behavior techniques in the world will help a cat with a veterinary problem, so don’t skip the trip to the vet.

Observe the Behavior. If the vet rules out a health problem, I next recommend a brief observation period. It’s always very frustrating to the owner to let the cat continue his litter box mistakes, but it gives you the knowledge to attack the specific problem.

During the observation period, try to concentrate on the things in the environment that may be important to your cat, like litter boxes, food bowls, favorite places, the routines of the other cats and people in the home, etc. Start a journal where you record as much information as you can about every litterbox mistake, then look for links.

Does the cat always use the same room? Is it always on carpeting? Does it happen after meals, or at some other time of day? Are the other cats nearby? Did you have guests over? When you isolate the specific stimuli involved, it allows you greater control without making major changes in the environment that may upset the rest of the cats.

Break the Habit. Elimination sites are matters of preference, and when the cat gets into the routine of going to a certain location, you’ll need to prevent the behavior from recurring. Since the smell of declining urine is a signal for the cat to “reapply,” clean the accident site with a pet odor remover - perhaps multiple times to get past the cat’s sensitive nose.

Block off the area while the product does its work. Remote deterrents, that work whether you are around or not, will keep the cat from returning to the area whenever you aren’t standing guard. Double-sided tape or an upside-down plastic carpet runner, pointy feet up, can keep your cat from standing in the same area.

Cats also hate to be startled, so anything that can safely surprise the cat when he visits that area can help make the area less “cat-friendly.”

Make the current litter box more appealing. While you are preventing bad habits, make good habits more appealing. The litter box should be clean, have privacy, and in multi-cat homes, escapability is also important.

This simply means that the cat can see off a distance, so he won’t be ambushed in the box, or on his way there. Most cats prefer clumping, non-perfumed litter, but work with your individual cat to determine whether a box of a different size, shape, or litter would help.

Retrain the cats. If it doesn’t seem to help to address the individual factors in your journal, or your cat has never regularly used the litterbox, you may want to retrain the cat by himself.

Use this as a last resort, since removing the cat from the hierarchy may upset the routines of all the cats in the home. Keep the cat in a small, uncarpeted room, with a clean litterbox, food bowl, and toys in opposite corners. Pick up all rugs from the floor, so the only soft place to choose to eliminate will be the litterbox.

Visit the cat often, and clean the box regularly. I also recommend recording the times that the cat uses the box.

Many cats stick to a regular routine, so once you’ve determined when the cat is likely to use the box, you can let the cat out during low-risk times to maintain the hierarchy, and put him back in the room with the litter box during high risk periods. Repetition of successful use will increase the cat’s preference to the box.

General stress reduction. In some situations, it’s difficult to determine specific environmental triggers for a problem behavior. However, sometimes general stress reduction techniques will prove helpful, particularly in multi-cat homes.

For litter box problems that have arisen from territorial disputes, additional resources may reduce competition for resources.

Extra litter boxes and food bowls are always helpful, but remember that YOU are also an important resource, so give each cat as much attention as they could possibly want. Exercise can also help redirect cats energies. It can also help desensitize cats to each other, while they are praised for attacking a toy while the other cat watches.

Routines are also very important in multi-cat homes, particularly when older cats are involved. Scheduled feeding, petting and exercise periods at the same time and location every day can further reduce stress that may be contributing to the litter box problem.

Litter box problems in multi-cat homes can be difficult. However, caring responsible owners can have an advantage solving the problem with they use quick, decisive actions and apply solid behavioral techniques.

I just put a question about what people would think of someone who marries young, say 18. Thank you for all your answers, I wanted honesty so appreciate all your replies!

Some replied, that they automatically think it wont work, they married for sex, are religous, would have a traditional marriage and are naive.

I asked because I married at 18 and also started my business at that age. I think we all mature at different ages. I’m lucky to have found my soulmate and after 7 years together we are blissfully happy.

We aren’t traditional at all and certainly not naieve. We aren’t religous and believe in sex before marriage.

Marriage is a big commitment, but more a spiritual commitment.

I’m interested as to why people would thin kit would be more inclined to be traditional?

I’m not critising anyone who answered but I think it’s interesting as all of us do it, it’s human nature, we prejudge and imagine things before we’ve even met someone.
Thank you, I’m not bothered about what peopel think but as I say, the people that know me in ‘real’ life don’t think that way. I just think the human nature is an interesting thing to study.
Hi Helper, in the conversation it was traditional and not a happy one, meaning like the poor wife chained to the sink sort of thing..

Interesting question. I think it is just a case of the majority of people being inclined to have more conservative views about marriage vows and the way it’s all meant to be done.

Plus the media puts out these moral panics that lead people to believe that all ‘young’ns’ that get married are leeching off the government for benefits or just favouring family over education.

People like stability and see those that go against the status quo as a bit of a threat to the survival of society - repelling against the norms of all. I’d say this view is a load of rubbish - it’s just the government ensuring young people stay clear of settling down too early and causing more panic amongst the more mature of society.

I’m not particularly religious - maybe agnostic and I was amazed at the response of shock i recieved when I told my class mates in college that I didn’t believe in marriage - it’s funny how people can’t accept anything that goes a little off what they’ve been taught.

Traditional or no - marriage is marriage and there’s only two in the relationship - so it’s no one else’s business to say how and when to do it :)
